Noot is an Attendant Gek explorer and the second-in-command of the Orfen Fleet in the Euclid Galaxy.
Description[]
Appearance[]

Appearance in the Grand Collage Art Project.
As a member of the Attendant race, Noot has sweeping "horns" curling over his head. He is somewhat tall and thin for a Gek. He also has a large crest at the base of his skull. He is blue-skinned with smooth scales and vibrant purple stripes. His "horns" start out against the base of the head as purple before fading into a blue as it sweeps upwards; they are tinged red about halfway up. His cheekbones also have a flush of red to them, and he has black markings around his eyes, though his eyelids themselves are blue. His beak is pup-like and pale while his irises are purple with vertical slits.
He possesses eye tattoos.
Personality[]

During Operation: BEACHHEAD.
Noot is a fairly friendly individual though is prone to introversion ever since the disappearance of his wife, Eft. Despite this he has shown that he is perfectly capable of issuing commands as he ran the Orfen Fleet for a year in Somarinoa's absence, and also owns his own small wine business on planet Malbec. He is deeply fascinated by xenobiologic and xenopaleontological study, traits he shares with his direct superior, Somarinoa. He has shown a penchant for settling small backwater areas where no space stations can be found and has a knack for constructing working portal terminals in each. When faced with deadly storms he took Somarinoa's own ordeals on Nodershan Kone to heart and also uses his Terrain Manipulator to dig temporary tunnels into the earth to wait the storm out.
Relationships[]

After his accident.
Noot was very much in love with his wife, another Gek named Eft. However, she has since gone missing and he seeks to find his lost love, though he fears that after years of searching she is probably dead. He is slowly beginning to move on with his life.
Noot has a strong working relationship with the VI in his armor Ascii, which he was given by the Korvax interface entity Qwerty during Operation: BEACHHEAD. He also has had a working relationship with his direct superior Somarinoa in the Orfen Fleet, the crew of the CV-5 Hisomaeba (Captain Kalskyviu, Navigator Trezusu, Operator Entity Ukra, Entity Anas), the captain of the frigate SV-5 Ukagaw (Code Entity Haianza), the VI onboard a temporally displaced Normandy SV1, as well as his own staff at Noot's Vineyard: WorkGek Kag, Pure Entity Astropav, a Vy'keen armorer, a Gek botanist, and a Vy'keen mechanic. He has had minimal contact with other major players in the Fleet—specifically its Boun'darri members (Octothorpe the Kketh, Splish the Ancillare, and Namazuul the Drogaduran.) Although he initially had no contact with another Boun'darri, Syzygy the Arilou, this changed during Operation: OMEGA which occurred between February and March of 3424. During this Operation he also came into command of the freighter MS-6 Bibaitak and its captain, Sediume.
Noot also has made friends with two locals on his journey and has recruited each as companions who assist him in his travels: the Methuselah Mulcher Etho-Etho of planet Popolist and Yewinny the Uateyn of planet Torrentalus. He also has a pet named Uba-Ubazi of planet Iopek as well as a Watchful Observer beast of burden mount named Rimie-Rimie, also from Popolist. During Operation: OMEGA, he expended this group with new companions: The G. oestridinzeus Todiva-Maree, the Child of Helios Woodinny, and the Z. ranabozetica Sucava; and two pets, the G. mandrilerium Unni-Unninna and the C. nipullum Amby-Amby.
Abilities[]
Piloting skills[]
As an explorer, Noot is an adept (though not expert) starship pilot and even owns his own small fleet of personal starships. He also has learned to drive a Roamer exocraft and is quite skilled in its usage, able to get it places it might not normally be able to reach or traverse to.
Commanding authority[]
Noot ran the Orfen Fleet from the deck of the CV-5 Hisomaeba for a year and developed strong commanding skills towards his crew. This has transferred to his skills as a boss at his vineyard.
Multilingual[]
Over the course of his life, Noot has learned bits and pieces of the languages of the three remaining major sapient races in the Euclid Galaxy, making him multilingual. Interestingly despite being a Gek himself he only knows around 100 Gek words, having grown up and spending most of his life in a backwater planet. As of his journey in 3421, he has also learned the name that the Atlas calls itself by, as well as minimal words in a couple languages of minor sapient species he has encountered.

Background History[]
Early life[]
3410‒3420[]
When Eft was kidnapped in the year 3413 he was left abandoned by the criminals on a swamp planet notorious for its heavy pollution. He strove to locate his lost love and ultimately came to stowaway on a Gek freighter called the CV-5 Hisomaeba, trying to slowly sway the captain of the vessel to stop on the planet he believed her to be located on. This insistence fell on deaf ears until the frigate was purchased by the Loranche Somarinoa. When word got to him about the desire to enter that particular planetary system he made the jump. Noot soon disappeared and traveled through the space station's teleporter to an on-world location.
Operation: BEACHHEAD (3421)[]
Post Normandy (3421‒3423)[]
3424[]
Operation: OMEGA (February ‒ March)[]
Noot and the Arilou Syzygy volunteered to join as the representatives for the Orfen Fleet and Boun'darri, respectively. They were sent along with hundreds of others through the Space Anomaly to the planet Nafut Γ in the Doriguc VII System. However, this expedition was a ruse set up by the Atlas starting years prior with the execution of several Travellers who normally call the Anomaly home that had been replaced with replicants.
Operation: LIQUIDATORS (July ‒ September)[]
Realizing that they were in close proximity to the Zerukar survivalist Rookeh who had been a candidate for membership into the Orfen Fleet for years at this point, Fleet laisons Noot and Syzygy traveled to Tegratead Post on Eardog Σ to meet up with the individual. However, during this time the pair were contacted by the Vanguard, seeking to initiate all Vanguard sleeper agents and integrate the local ones into Operation: LIQUIDATORS. They end up in a platoon of other sleeper Vanguards fighting the abyssal broods awakened by the actions of the Writhing's Wormlord Kragslakk.
Over the course of the following month, over 90% of the Vanguards were slaughtered by the Vile Brood and the abyssal monstrosities. Further losses were later incurred at the Abderaps Platform on New Yirrolin. Ultimately, several members of the Orfen Fleet survived the conflicts: Oog the Gilled Man, Rookeh, the formerly-retired Splish, Syzygy, and Noot himself. Noot and Oog returned to Keenvault City together before parting ways.
Aquarius Euclidean Open (October)[]
With the heavy losses of the Vanguard's operation at the shift from the Ravener War into the Brood War, the citizens of the Euclid Galaxy began to desperately seek out something to distract them from the horrors of the ongoing pangalactic war against the Go'thial and the Writhing. When a message in a bottle was discovered written by a displaced Grantaccha angler named Baten Loor, it jumpstarted a fishing tournament across the Γ Quadrant of the Euclid Galaxy, which would then expand over time into the remainder of the Atlas Supercluster in some capacity, leading to the transformation of the tournament the following year into the Aquarius Pangalactic Classic.

Noot deploys a harvester droid to tend to the plants around his summer trade-home.
Following the tourney, Noot and Syzygy once again parted ways with a friendly wave farewell. After years of absence (having last stepped foot in the area on October 5th, 3421), Noot chose to return to his summer trade home on Torrentalus; however he chose to first stop by a space station run by his spawn-brother, Supervisor Pojodu. He then moved on to Torrentalus, finally continuing construction from the mere 2-story box meant for safety from the planet's extreme storms. The structure was given a deck overlooking the lake and Noot set himself up a bedroom on the second story; Yewinny was provided with a proper indigenous home within the small cave, as well. Plans to extend the home into the lake to continue his newfound love of fishing were also put into motion during this time.
