Cthulhu's Lash (F. sharpsooe) are a species of vegetation indigenous to the terrorsphere planet New Hette.
They are tall, twisting, leafless stalks superficially resembling tendrils snaking out of the substrate; local urban superstitions involve a belief that they are physically connected to some sort of Elder God resting deep below the surface though there is no direct evidence to actually support this. They root themselves in place with a linear root structure and they would be easy to pull from the ground were it not for their size. Fragile stems allow each tendril to break off if pressure is applied, but it will almost immediately begin to regenerate the lost 'limb'.
They are typical autotrophs and subsist on the starlight emanating from the local main sequence star, Haykan-Hij.
