Thoth

Dr. Thoth is a Type-VII Lanky-Chassis Reploid (a "Kramer Temproid") who seems to have some sort of otherworldly knowledge about Tempo and the true purpose of the Gothic Virus. Thoth was one of the archaeologists who worked alongside Professor Fennec when they uncovered Kuwanger. Those archaeologists who weren't killed soon afterwards were all infected, and each slowly succumbed to the virus in their own time. Thoth, having been a mediator between Fennec and Dr. Sobek, has come to blame the NeoHunters for his current predicament, yet states that he knows that it ("the game", as he describes it) is all set up just for Tempo. While he states that he's smart enough to know that Tempo can defeat him, he says that he willingly sacrifices himself for "the game" - however, the way of the game means that he is obligated to put up a fight.

Thoth fights on a pair of weighing scales positioned with deadly spikes above and searing acid below each platform. Weighing slightly less than a normal Reploid, the platform his opponent stands on slowly drifts downwards naturally, but he can also suddenly fly up to cause it to drop rapidly, or use a moon-themed attack to throw weights on his own platform to try to launch his foe into the spikes above.

Appearance[]

Thoth is a Kramer Temproid and thus is tall and lanky; combined with his modified neck part that extends his height he is likely around 6'5" in height at the top of his head. His armor casing is mostly a royal blue with gold highlights and utilizes a bird and mummy motif. His fingers are long and sharp, and his toes come to a curved point. Three triangular ornaments styled like jewelry or feathers extend from his ear caps to his shoulders. He wears a long, curved mask bolted to his face to give him the appearance of having a long beak.

In his pelvic region as well as his forearms he has a trio of spirit levels to help indicate angles.

Having his data corrupted by the Relic Virus, his eyes have turned red (indicating a fatal error in his system) and the polymer 'skin' around his eyes has turned red as if sick with a cold.

Abilities[]

Relationships[]

A former member of the Earth Archaeological Society stationed in Egypt, he once possessed a working relationship with his supervisor Dr. Fennec, along with the other members of the team: The data storage unit Ra Data; as well as Doctors Amun, Horus, Necromanubiser, Serquet, Sobek, Ubasti, and Wadjet.

He received the viral infection and went rampant after the virus was spread by the body of Kuwanger though Kuwanger was deactivated at the time so their relationship is only cursory. As the virus is sapient, he now has a deep connection to it, referring to it as The Voice (inside his head) and he listens to what it has to say, believing that it has opened his eyes to the truth. This truth involves his knowledge as to the exact nature of his design-father Tempo, whom he already knows is destined to kill him in combat.

Background History[]

Alternate Background Histories[]

Plenty of Space for Monsters[]

In Monster Space, Thoth can be encountered as a character boss. He will always be hostile.

Surviving the Dangerous Wilds[]

In Dangerous Wilds Thoth can randomly spawn as with any other character NPC in the game. Like before he will remain hostile and cannot be recruited. However this time he will only spawn in desert locations, with a higher chance of spawning in desert ruins such as pyramids. Upon defeating him he will remain on the field, injured, long enough to be spoken to but afterwards will flee the zone; if the player leaves the area without talking to him and return they will find that he has also left and despawned. When spoken to, he will break the fourth wall and indicate that the Voice has told him about the Player and how this is all just a "game" orchestrated by "the developer" and that he should appreciate all the effort and time that has gone into providing this dangerous environment for them to survive in.

In Somarinoa's Grand Collage, Balance Thoth can be seen watching but neutral to the large Ailodon panic caused by Beakey the Desert Digger and Branch Hi-Stac & Glodge while conversing civilly with the Ailydatron Scale Eye.
