Artotts (pronounced /ˈɑːrˌ.tɑːt/) are a species of non-sapient, amphibianoid organisms indigenous to an unknown homeworld but found in numerous locations across the galaxy. Interestingly, despite their otherwise unimportant existence to the galaxy as a whole, races such as the Sculptors have altered them on a number of occasions and placed them upon various worlds.
Although they have advanced hands, they have not naturally reached sapience and have difficulty even grasping tools without outside genetic alterations due to their highly webbed hands. They are also considered hindered toward sapience due to a dependency on the nearby water, which they still foster their young inside makeshift pools.
Artotts are bipedal reptilianoids found inhabiting tropical and subtropical coastlines on their homeworld, where they fill a niche similar to that of Earth's monkeys.
