Background history[]
Millennia or possibly even eons ago (the timeline is currently unclear as only fragments of their history and anecdotal evidence supports what is so far known; little scientific study has yet to be properly performed as of late March 3425), a conglomerate of species known as the Portal Takers were suffering genocide at some now long-forgotten foe (although it may have been an attack either during the last Sentinel galactic wipe or an invasion by the Gek First Spawn, two major players in former species genocide in the galaxy). Although the majority of their multitude of species did not follow through, many millions chose to flee to hopefully places unknown via portals across the worlds that they inhabited.
Synthetic scouts had already been sent through the portal to determine that it was a deep pressure ocean planet and thus this particular group suited up in pressurized suits and diving helmets and pushed on through. While they were initially safe for the time being, one individual unfortunately tried killing a local krabb that appeared completely docile only to find that as a species they could become aggressively defensive. This led to a domino effect that got nearly every member of the collective killed, and those stragglers who survived suffered worse fates of eventual drowning or starvation. If any survived beyond this point, there is no discovered written record entailing this.
Eventually the galactic community sent a space station to the region to begin colonizing it, but for reasons unknown this station was abandoned and over the centuries fell into disrepair. The system was completely forgotten until its star went dissonant; however no technology existed at the time to allow the galactic community to travel there until the discovery and induction of the Autophages. The race quickly established themselves by inventing the Atlantid drive to allow to travel to these purple-hued planetary systems.
The planet was rediscovered by the galactic community during Operation: TITAN on Saturday February 12, 3425 CE. Its planetary portal was then subsequently rediscovered over a month later on March 18, 3425 by the Director Gek Trademaster Noot and his then-mutated Arilou Lalee'lay partner, F(r)iend Syzygy.
